The water bottle is made of green plastic. On the front of the bottle is written with raised lettering ‘FOR WATER ONLY DO NOT APPLY CANTEEN TO OPEN FLAME OR BURNER PLATES’. The water bottle cover is green cotton webbing with two metal press studs at the front for closing. On the inside of the upper part of the press stud is the manufacturer’s name ‘CARR AUSTRALIA’. On the rear of the cover is a canvas strip sewn to accommodate two metal clips for attachment to a webbing belt. Above that is a metal hook attached by a cotton canvas loop for attachment to a web belt. The inside of the cover is felt-lined.
